Richie Rich quickly became the most popular character to come from Harvey Comics, starring in over 1000 comic books, two cartoon series, two feature films, and a live-action show currently airing on Netflix.

Richie started as a mere supporting character in Little Dot's stories, but his popularity quickly overshadowed the book's titular character, even surpassing the fame of Harvey's most popular characters Casper the Friendly Ghost and Hot Stuff the Little Devil. Due to this unexpected success, Harvey Comics started to publish several books with Richie Rich as the protagonist character in the early 60's.
